Leeds O2 Academy - Suitable Parking?
On this Friday evening (12th) I am going to attend a concert at the O2 Academy venue in Leeds city centre.
If anyone local to Leeds or who has good local knowledge of the city centre could point me in the direction of a decent (for decent, read "reasonably secure, well-lit and not likely to get my car targeted" etc etc) car park. We don't mind walking a short distance to the venue from the car park but equally I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the car a long distance from the venue. A couple of minutes brisk walk away would be fine. Ultimately I am trying to avoid parking where the majority of the concert-goers will park to avoid queues but at the same time security of my car is of paramount importance Any tips/pointers or other traffic information would be gratefully received. Thanks. |

Not entirely feasable due to:
a) cost b) cost c) err.... cost Also due to picking up a friend en-route I think train is a no-goer and as for bus/coach - we need to get their on Friday evening THIS year Seriously though... Car is the only option this time around. |

Nearby Parking Facilities:
A public 24-hour multi-story car park (Q Park) is situated on 72 Merrion Street. I am sure local members will know of some better cheaper Car Parks. |

There is a car park about 2 mins walk from the o2, not sure of the cost, we went on a Sunday and it was free, if you,re using sat nav to get you there, its literally as you pull onto the street where the o2 is, its a very new car park, as its connected to a new building , but the queue to get into the o2 went all the way past the car park, so its VERY close,

I think we've found a decent one. http://www.thelightleeds.co.uk/carpark
Looks quite good from the write-up and the fact it is part of a shopping complex rather than a stand-alone car park. |
