I respectfully suggest you avail yourself a copy of the Haynes manual, which will guide you through the necessary steps to access and replace the thermostat.
Parts are available through Rimmer Bros and or Xpart Hope this helps. |

Lates is the best person to explain exactly what is involved in taikng it off
I have not pulled one to bits myself so would just be quoting from the book. |

Just had mine done at Lates and it took a little under 3 hours and he does them all the time! The inlet manifold has to come off and with it all the ancillaries / wiring looms throttle assy etc. then the injectors and loom, then the front bank inlet pipes. Only then can you see the thermostat housing. Lates will only fit the full kit that is Thermostat housing, pipe and clips and return elbow. I also had the temp sender fitted at the same time. He is booked up until Feb 08 though. It has been achieved from the side but space is unbelievably limited and takes almost as long, if you have the slightest problem it all has to come off anyway if you just want to change the housing on its own I have a brand new one that I bought from rimmers. When I saw the extent of the job and how cold it is outside I decided against it. You can have that for £18 inc p+p (cost me over £30.) HTH

You will need the following parts:
PEM101050 PEP101970 PEP103270 PYC101320 x2 This is the thermostat, plus two pipes and the clips to hold them in place. Total cost should be around £48 for the parts. The pipes become very brittle and are likely to break when removed which is why we always replace them. |
