Assuming you fairly fit and not too tubby, it is possible to fold down the rear seat, following remival of the base, with the seat folded down flat, creap into the luggage area with a screwdriver or trim tool and remove the push-in type studs that hold the boot lid carpeted section, removal of the lowest ones will present a problem as they will bewithin the lowest closure point of the boot lid and not within reach. Having removed the others, you can reach down to the solinoid and feel the bar and linkage, gently move the linkage away from its resting point and you will hear the boot pop open.
