Purely from seeing it done to classic cars, would a re-shell be a feasible option ?

Where would you get a v8 shell from?

Are they very different from a standard 75/ZT shell then ?

I don't think it has the door gaps look ok in the pictures and the damage isn't severe enough on the rear 1/4's to suggest that's what has happened more likely secondary damage.

I suspect the rear screen has shattered due to the boot lid hitting it.

Yes the shells are different as the V8 is rear wheel drive. Damage isn't severe enough to warrant a reshell.

Also if damage was that bad the car wouldn't be being sold as a damage repairable.

Based on the fact that this car is at Silverlake Garage in Southampton and not too long ago this news item appeared in the local paper, I suspect the two are one and the same.

https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/176...-outside-home/

So it appears this car was accidentally reversed in to a wall.

with the frontal ns damage, it looks like the rear door damage has come from the from being sandwiched between two other vehicles, and I would bet the rear door will be tight to open, if it does open (but I would think it will be the frame of the door will be the issue rather than the shell/chassis, ie replacement door)
