Perfectly normal behaviour - you're among friends here. My neighbours also think I'm a little odd, as I'm always out cleaning and polishing.

I normally wash and polish my 75 once or twice a week, with my 75 being Royal Blue it looks dirty very quickly.

That's now up to a good standard. Once the hard work is done, keeping it there is the easy thing..
