Mine turned out to be the inlet manifold gasket.

Also, I had recently done an MLS gasket on my wife's 45 (1.4K) and fitted a new inlet gasket, but a cheap inlet gasket. A couple of months later it started to run off and was loosing water. I thought it was the HG again and felt very sick. Turned out to be the inlet gasket. A good quality one, which was easy to fit, cured it.

Started okay, light came on but has now gone off.... I shall have to check the plugs for any wetness in a day or so...Again, I have just removed my expansion cap before starting.... Hasn't been driven today so stone cold......Again it is if it is pressurised as there was a whoosh when removed.....
Lots of cars can make a whoosh sound when the filler cap is removed.
This is often air going INTO the rad and this suction is caused by the filler cap inlet valve being a little bit gunged up.
There are TWO valves in the rad filler cap. One to let air in and one to let excessive pressure out. ( Not a lot of people know that. Lol. )

Is it air going in or pressure coming out that you can hear ???
