Resurfaced quite quickly, si I'm guessing not much will have been done to it.

Nice markup!!
I'll bet they didn't even pay the £2,900.00 the original seller was after....... Hopefully they will put it through a workshop and maybe give some warranty to justify the price. You still looking bluey? Derek

Correct, but the facelift 1.8s do have the remote (PRT) thermostat and the coolant level sensor/idiot lamp.

Hi Derek
Always looking. Gonna put my MG TF up for sale soon to fund a newer 75. Trouble is, I'm seriously begining to doubt that there is one nicer than mine out there. When I say nicer I mean that as one I like more. Cheers Bluey |

Unless I'm mistaken, with the odd exception the 1.8s from 53 reg onwards were fitted with a larger expansion tank to combat the HGF issue, as the failures were attributed to poor coolant capacity providing little compensation when the level eventually drops.
If you buy the car and the coolant level is fine, if there is no white gunk in the oil and the coolant doesn't smell too fishy, so long as you check the coolant and oil levels every week or two you'll have nothing to worry about. Last edited by south bank; 19th May 2009 at 00:18.. |

No larger sized expansion Tanks listed on EPC for 1.8/1.8T regardless of age.
No Sensors/idiot lamp shown either. |
