Brake Bounce
I've noticed a bit of bounce in the brake pedal lately more noticable at lower speed.
Is this likely to be warped discs ? Thanks Ian |

As long as its not just before you stop, and very rapid (that's an abs fault) Then it is possibly a warped disc mate.

Maybe I should have said it's more noticable with light braking. Since my moment with the vanishing front pad in Wales a brake overhaul has been on my list of things to get done, I've got a complete set of new discs and hoses in the cupboard along with some refurbed calipers (thanks Andy) so I'll get them on and see if it cures it. If it turns out to be the ABS whats the answer there. Ta Last edited by Ian G; 27th November 2018 at 21:51.. |

Andy - if Paul's ABS issue (now sorted) was anything to go by i could feel/hear a judder sat in the passenger sheet of his car - at low speed coming to a stop. .

I've seen a few vented discs rusting from the inside out, causing rust sections where the vented sections run. These sections become weak and buckle inwards creating low spots.

Like the pedal kicking back? I had the same a year or so ago: and my first thought was low speed ABS fault - turned out that one of the front brake pads had split the friction material over a ridge on the worn brake disk. New disks and pads sorted it out.

Until I changed the front discs and pads last month, my car suffered serious judder when stopping from motorway speeds.
One of the pads appeared to have been deeply scored, perhaps by a stone, and part of the adjacent pad had broken away. All cured with a Mintex Brake Box. Just the rears to do now.
