I used to drive one of those, it was at my second driving job, company was Associated Lead based on the Isle of Dogs, East London, multi drops of lead products all round London, 'orrible doors more than once the wind blew the door just as you was getting in, the old funny bone took a few bangs, used to shudder, rattle and bang when first started till it got warmed up
I was well made up my first proper lorry, wasn't till much later I found out every new starter got that motor to see how long they would last, had it 3 or 4 months and got promoted to a Bedford TK wow a sleeper cab.

I always found with the angle cab that if you jumped out wearing a t-shirt you got hung by the inside door handle |

PMSL at the thought of it, oh the memories.
That reminds me, same company had an AEC, think it was an Octopus, an eight wheeler, guy who drove it used to do Devon & Cornwall 5 nights out. I got to drive it when he was on holiday, I think my right knee is now paying the price from the amount of times I banged it on the pigging great air filter just inside the door. What price elf & safety then.
