Looks Like Volvo's Going To China
According to the wireless this morning Ford are trying to strike a deal with the Chinese to get rid of the loss making Volvo, understandable but just annoys me being a Volvo fan. I've never been happy since Volvo was split up into separate & Ford took on the car side, though to give ford their due they have left Volvo to do their own thing more or less & they have incorporated a lot of Volvo ideas into their current range ie Focus ST with Volvo 5Cyl turbo engine etc. which has improved their own brand quite considerably.
What next? I suppose Scammell will be swallowed up by British Leyland.............oh that's already happened |

Thats sad. I don't see why Ford Europe (that are doing well at the moment) should be made to sell their crown jewels (Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and now Volvo) just to prop up their failing American Business

Sadly Volvo are making big losses & have been for some time & in this day & age people are just plugging the leaks where they can to keep their min business afloat, crying shame but that's the way it is

Unfortunately I think it will go the same way as MG Rover. Move everything, lock, stock and barrel, over to China. There is going to be a lot of unemployment in the wast of Sweden.
