I believe it matters less on the diesels than on petrols, with regard to exhaust choices. However, I'd reckon it'd be just the same price to get one custom made at a good stainless place, where you can get it made as quiet as possible, and made to look as you desire.

PS, if you ever want to sell those chrome exhaust tips, give me a shout!

I've just had a long life cat back quoted at £349 at VR Tuning in Kendal, I suspect that was not the chambered ultra quiet version. Something I will certainly be considering come summer time.

I have just had a Longlife system fitted by the Ashington centre, similar price as stated above. It has been made with two intermediate silencer boxes in the mid section as per the original. I am very happy with it, virtually no louder than the original.

Default Stainless Exhausts

Stainless exhausts will always be noisier than the original items unless they have been designed specifically to restrict the noise levels. The only one I have heard of which is proven to be as quiet as the original (on the diesels)
is the Longlife special one which costs £249.99 for the rear section only.
