Just had a cunning plan .

If the US supplier were to buy one of those horrible off-centre fascias like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/Brand-New-R...QQcmdZViewItem

then he could use it as a template.

Anyone know if these are a good fit - despite their looks!

One more question on this - if the supplier can do up an MGR specific fascia would people like to lose the crease line along the upper part? The line is there to match the BMW dash.

I haven't mentioned this to the supplier yet, just wanted to get a bit of feedback.

Any opinions?

Supplying one of those "cheap n nasty" off-centre fascias is a good idea - a very good idea. I guess we'd probably go for a design without the crease, but actually the crease looks rather nice. Which ever is the cheapest for him to replicate really.

What we do need to ensure is that:
1. the hole in the fascia is properly centred (and not offset like the one we're planning to send him)
2. that the texture is a good match with the rest of the fascia. I suspect that the fascia he supplies for the E46 is already there, so so long as this is reproduced, we won't have anything to complain about!

Here is the link for the group buy:

It runs until the end of November - after that you will have to re-negotiate or pay full price

That is for the existing BMW design.

I don't know if the supplier will make up a Rover specific design if there isn't enough interest.

At the moment there is only Rob Bell wanting one. I imagine that there would be more interest if it was just "plug and play".

I suppose its a case of the chicken and the egg

Well,, as you know, I'm having Geraint's fascia to play with but even so, IF the guy could produce 75 / ZT specific fascias, I'll have one.

I tried to do this a while back (set up a group buy from this chap) - but didn't get too far unfortunately. But I am certainly still interested in getting a fascia panel! Ideally, I'd like to have one specifically for our car, but the E46 panel is certainly good enough

So getting the list started:

Well I'm looking into going down the Double Din Route so I'll add myself to the list:

IF he can do a Rover fascia, and it's not a BMW one that I have to modify then I'd be likely to add my name too. It also depends on the price.
