Nah, there are a lot more than just two, I know of lots.

I once worked for an electrical company and one of their engineers had a car with a flat battery. I always carry jump leads and always willing to help, but this guy wanted to connect his battery's +ve to my -ve and his battery's -ve to my +ve.

He was absolutely convinced that is how you did it and being a very highly qualified engineer, he knew it was the correct way to do it and no one could convince him otherwise. I threw my leads back in the boot, with a comment of 'not with my car you don't' and left him to it.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I reckon the oil story is a wind up (I've seen it a few times in different places, bit like the 'I knew someone who had an ant lay eggs in their ear and they ate his brain' story).

But that 350Z bodywork horror story is incredible!

I'm pretty sure the oil flush story is a troll, a pretty good one though

If you'd like to see some real horror stories, Wheels-in-motion garage have a forum with a "Horror of the week" section, where they post pictures of the worst cars they get in.

They specialise in tyres and alignment/setting up so most stories involve these parts. It's frightening that we share the roads with cars as badly maintained and bodged..

Example picture of some "worn" brakes...

Puts me in mind of my son a few years back when he had a Cavalier SR which was using a heck of a lot of oil.
He was fed up always topping it up so I said I would do an engine makeover for him new rings etc.
In the meantime as it was using so much oil I gave hime some of the old oil I had drained from my cars, so he topped it up so high it started to push the dip stick out.
I was unaware he had done this so when I came to drain the oil into a 5 litre container, well you've guessed by now, there was oil all over the place. I think he must have had about 12 - 15 litres of oil in the sump.

After new rings and a decoke it ran sweet as a nut and with no smoke, though I did have to burn off all the oil contamination in the exhaust system first by giving it a good run on the road.

Oh dear, I can just imagine the container get more and more full, and you thinking "there can't be much more in there"
