Default Trim removal

I bought a new piece of chrome trim for the rear quarter panel yesterday. I know there are two nuts at the back of the car to remove. Can the trim be slid off then? I did try but as the doner car was in the scrapyard i just broke the clips in the end but don't want to do this on my car.

Yes, i tried to slide it off without breaking the clips. As you say you have to slide it back so the threaded parts don't touch the body and scratch it. It has indeed bent it. I have a new one to go on from the scrapyard that i just broke the clips off to get off. I really can't see any other way to remove them. Clips arrived today so i will get the new one on tonight.

I agree, you can undo the two nuts and pop the trim clip next up but i can see no way to get access to the two further up.
