If you'd used a BMW to ISO connector it's included. I'm sure mine was

There should be a lead from the steering wheel with a plug on it. I had lots of problems when fitting a head unit to SW controls. I had Rover specific leads (head unit adaptor and SW adaptor) but from different manufacturers, so had to get both from same manufacturer as the connections are similar in look but connect to different pins. There are brand specific adaptor leads for most makes (not sure about yours) and even then, some of them have to be connected in a specific sequence, for them to work. Some SW controls have wires and some have a beam ( I seem to remember) for operation.

The Red/Green cable is for the mute connection to a fitted mobile phone holder.
