Hi Rob,

On the Ide Hill Rd. (B2042) just after it's junction with the B2026.

It's on the right hand side, coming out of Edenbridge, before the traffic lights under the railway bridge.

Not sure if it's an official lay by, but I used to drive past and often see cars there.

Regards

Mike

Ok yes, it is still there. It's called Four Elms Road at that point.

HI All

Myself and Paulette will be going to Edenbridge show.
I not booked for the show yet, as I see there's a few cars meeting in a lay-by on route to the show, hopefully meet up there ?

I'll be good to catch up Pat. Yes I still have the coupe and will tell the story at the show.
I saw your old coupe at Longbridge earlier this year and spoke to the owner.

As previously mentioned, the best (only) way to ensure that we can park as a group, will be to arrive as a group; assembling between 08:00 and 08:15, at the very latest.

Please drive to a layby on the B2027, (possibly previously the B2042) Four Elms Rd. which is 1.25 miles from the show ground. (directions follow)

We can then move on to the venue as soon as we have all arrived, or at 08:15 sharp.

Just in case, the route can be either via Edenbridge High Street (20 mph) or it's by-pass; I plan to use the latter.

Directions to Layby :-

For those coming along the B2027 (see above), from the A25, via Ide Hill and Four Elms, the layby will be on your left, just after driving underneath a traffic light controlled Railway Bridge.

For anyone on the B2026:-

From Westerham, just before Edenbridge and just after a (different) Railway Bridge, turn Left onto the Four Elms Rd, the Lay by will then be on your right hand side.

From Uckfield area, go through Edenbridge, and then just after (your) Railway Bridge, turn Right onto the Four Elms Rd, the Lay by will again be on your right hand side.

To avoid confusion, there are 3 Railway Bridges, in this area.

I'm not certain of this, but I think the layby may have a single entry / exit, i.e. not a normal drive in and drive out. (I checked it out the other day, and that's what it looked like)

Please note that only pre-registered (with the organisers) cars can enter before 10.00am. We aim to arrive at around 08:25am.

Best to have a fold up chair with you, and I will be bringing a gazebo, although I don't know as yet if it can be erected.

Regards, and see you on the day,

Mike

DIRECTIONS to the EDENBRIDGE MOTOR SHOW.

All of these routes are scenic in places, but particularly the B2042.
From any of the first 3 routes (below), you will see all of it.

From the M25 (anticlockwise)

Exit at jct. 6 onto the South bound A22
Almost immediately turn onto the Eastbound A25
Pass through OXTED, and then turn right, onto the B269
Bear right onto the B2026
Pass through EDENBRIDGE and continue to the junction with the B2028
The show ground is now on your right hand side.

From the M25 (clockwise - if passing through, or joining at, jct. 4)

Approaching jct. 5, stay in the outer lanes, to exit onto A21
In 0.75 mile, exit onto Eastbound (not West) A25 (Eastbound is the first of two exits)
In 0.5 mile, turn right onto B2042
Pass through the edge of IDE HILL and then FOUR ELMS (B2042 becomes the B2027)
At T jct., turn left, onto B2026
Pass through EDENBRIDGE and continue to the junction with the B2028
The show ground is now on your right hand side.

From Kent, M20

Please note, you cannot exit the M25 at jct. 5, from this direction.

Exit M20 at jct. 3, onto the M26
Almost immediately exit M26, and turn left at the roundabout.
0.75 mile, turn right at traffic lights, onto the A25 Westbound
Pass through BOROUGH GREEN, SEAL,
At RIVERHEAD, the A25 does a left, and then a right, between two mini roundabouts
Stay on the A25, and just passed a school on the left, turn left, onto the B2042
Pass through the edge of IDE HILL and then FOUR ELMS (B2042 becomes the B2027)
At T jct., turn left, onto B2026
Pass through EDENBRIDGE and continue to the junction with the B2028
The show ground is now on your right hand side.

From the South Coast

Generally a cross country journey, but best to give TUNBRIDGE WELLS as wide a berth as possible.

From Hastings / St. Leonards, I would use the A21, to some way North of PEMBURY
Continue passed the TONBRIDGE jct.
At the next jct. (probably sign posted for Sevenoaks), double back on yourself, by exiting onto the B245 Southbound.
1 mile and turn right onto the B2027, pass through LEIGH
At the FOUR ELMS cross roads, turn left, to stay on the B2027 (old B2042).
At T jct., turn left, onto B2026
Pass through EDENBRIDGE and continue to the junction with the B2028
The show ground is now on your right hand side.

Regards

Mike
