During my camping trip with the family last weekend, I overheard the two four year olds, happily playing in one tent........ "you are the taller boy", " I don't want to be the taller boy", "okay, you are the medium boy", "okay".

Kids come out with some gems. Friend of ours was a teaching assistant, the kids had to write about what they did the previous evening. One was "I watched TV while daddy played with mummy on the couch!"

Another was a few years ago when my father was in the agriculture business. One of his customers had a barn burnt down during the school summer holidays. When the kids returned to school after the holidays they were asked to write about what they had done during the break. You can see what's coming . . . . yep, one of them wrote about setting fire to the barn.

I think my favourite that my son has said recently, was in a fairly busy pub that we went to for lunch, ordered the food, then the waitress brought over the sauces and set the cutlery. And my son said loudly 'Look Daddy, I've got a fork 'n' knife'. Had to think for a few seconds if he'd said what I thought he'd said.
