Followed the tips from the Moderators, but I can barely get to the wires with my fingers let alone pliers or molegrips. I cant get enough grip on the wires to give a good pull with my finger. So the bonnet is still shut firm!
My patience with the car is just about at its end and my hands and knuckles are now red raw with trying to open the bonnet. So, any other suggestions on how to open it before I take to it with a sledgehammer!!!!! |

PM either myself or GG with details of where you are struggling and we'll try to assist further. Obviously due to the nature of the information we can't really have an open discussion so any tips by other members can you either PM Chris directly or pass the info to one of the team and we'll forward it on. Thanks.

Chris
You have all the info we have - you need patience and a swear box nearby. Have a cuppa and have a fresh go

dunno if this helps but I had the dreaded no opening bonnet syndrome. There seemed to be too much play in the cable. Use a screwdriver or something similar to take up the slack on the release catch in the footwell by sliding it between the wire and the plastic pull catch, provded everything is still connected inside then you should be able to get enough pull on the bonnet catch to release it. Since doing the mod and turning the nipple block round I have had no more trouble.
