What makes more sense..?
I can do a masters degree in two years full time. This is on top of the two years HNC and four years BEng (Hons) all part time. Then compete for high level CEng jobs in a tough market.
Or I could pass the legal bar in two years from scratch full time at the same university. Then go into an expanding litigous field. It really does stink. |

"Sense" doesn't always come into it.
I have spent over Ten Years doing different Degrees, etc to get and keep Qualified and still continue to this day on Intensive Training Courses and Qualifications as do many others on here. I did one on Open University / Day release while working 12 Hour days. It does Stink but thats Life and hopefully in the end will all be worth it. Best of luck with whatever you choose, as only you can. |

Having read this, I'm now just considering doing the bar as it's a doddle and only takes to years.....I'm sure there's more to it than that.

I fear JDC and Raistlin might be in the minority on this one - but that's only my opinion.

Sorry everyone. It's just that proper engineers are not given their dues. I looked in the evening mail from brum & saw roller shutter door engineers and boiler service engineers etc. it's just not the same as Brunel etc. In Germany for example I would be refered to as "engineer bad-head-day".
I am in two professional bodies but to me they're more or less like unions -give usyour subs & goodbye" edit sorry Raistlin I don't mean the legal profession is easier, just that engineering is harder to crack. eg I wanted to workfor th HSE but they want CEng minimum for industrial accident investigation but only relevant management experience for an audit of proceure investigation. Drunken nonsense..? Check it out: http://www.hse.gov.uk/ sorry, gonads they did have a video that illustrated this. Anyway - blether dribble buh gone plonk Last edited by bad-head-day; 26th August 2008 at 03:43.. |
