Default Wet look on a black car

Would like to get that wet look you see on some black or dark coloured cars.

Normal hand polishing just does not do it for me.

Any tips in lay mans terms for a beginner like me would be gratefully received.

I used to rub Havoline air line oil on for a deep deep wet look shine...

I clean Alison with All Purpose Cleaner, clay her, compound her, polish, then wax her and end up with this result. Takes all day however I enjoy doing it. I'd wait until it warms up before trying it. Polish won't go off if it's too cold. I do this twice a year. Good luck and please show us the results!

Here is my ZTT after I have washed, polished and applied a layer of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protector.

Apart from using the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protector as a top coat, I use Autoglym Shampoo and Conditioner for washing and Autoglym Super Resin Polish or sometimes I use Autoglym Aquawax, I find the products give a really good finish

Another vote for Autoglym Aqua Wax!
It is worth trying out as it is very quick and easy to use and contains Carnauba wax.

As per their video:

I was very pleased with the results when I used it.

TryTurtle Wax Ice Liquid wax Polish . Think itlttle may be a cheaper than auto glym with the same outstanding effect. You can use it exterior and interior. Over all trim with no remaining residue . Can use in direct sunlight and can do a whole vehicle 15 mins max. This is by far the best one ive ever used. Look online and see some videos . You can find price variations.too.

Just found a quick video. Its American but a quick demo

And another!
I use it regularly in between full polishes and waxes. It is quick, beads well, lasts quite a while and, above all else, it smells absolutely gorgeous
