He pays the same as me and I work in Education, which is not a career to get rich in.
So he Pays more per year than you in Income Tax. Do you think that is fair?

Why should he Pay more for the same services as you get purely because he earns more than you? You both use the same roads, Street Lighting etc so it is only fair you both pay the same amount for that privilidge. Another way to look at it is, If you earn more than me (which I know you will do) is it fair for you to pay twice as much as me for a service we both recieve? The answer is simply no.

The present Government are almost as bad as the Champagne socialists that were in power 1997 to 2010.

Thought you said we were discussing history? They were called the 'Poll tax' riots because those that rioted were demostrating about the iniquity of the poll tax....not the student riots. It involved many disparate groups. To try and suggest 'it was the students that rioted' is a massive over-simplification..not least because the opposition to the Poll tax was so great nationwide.

Too true.

The poll tax riots as they were called were organised by the All Britain Anti-Poll Tax Federation which was set up by the leftish Militant tendency as a national body which included many Anti-Poll Tax Unions.

So, just ordinary folk taking part in the poll tax riots..

Also (many) Parents are a little thick when it comes to raising Kids and their Diet, there is no doubt of this, Schools now have introduced a "5 a Day" regime and Kids are encouraged to eat Healthily, however, this has dowsides too. My 7 Year old refused to drink some Fresh Juice the other day because it had "Salt" in it - I tried to explain to him why, which wasn't easy I can promise you, but he was adament it was bad for him because his Teacher had said so

Another one is Cigarettes, they cost the NHS Billions in Smoking related Disease allegedly, so the Gov't plan to stop people Smoking? Tax them and then hide the Ciggies behind screen doors in a Shop Logic solution would be to ban them, they can cause heart and lung disease, but no, They aren't banned. Why? Revenue..........That's why.

The Government have no idea on how to do things properly, we all know this from experience. The Gov't do not care about Health, they just view it as another excuse to slap Taxes on something and produce more Income for them to fund War's and 'Aid' to other Countries, whilst it's our own Country that sinks like a brick. Same with the Enviroment, yay lets save the Planet by whacking "Green Tax" on some stuff..........
IF those are the issues that concern you about this Country, I would suggest that you read the Policies/Manifesto's of some of the smaller Parties!

They are not, I was simply responding directly to a Comment made in the Post that I quoted. However, If you like I can write 42 Page thread on all the things concerning me about this Gov't But I think that may go somewhat off topic don't you
