I may be getting confused here but don't forget the 'new' bonnet catch was also fitted to a great many mk1 cars as well. Its not just the facelift models that had the bonnet catch above the grille. I think it may have been 02 onwards but not sure

I think what you say is correct Ken - mine is 03 (MkI) and it has this 'new' type of catch.

The original bonnet pull that emerges from the grille was deleted in 2001 as part of the infamous Project Drive.

From late 01 all 75's came with the underbonnet pull - from start all ZT's had the underbonnet pull.

Ah-ha! Since taking delivery of my luvverly 75 on Friday, I've been trying the remote bonnet release and expecting to see a lever emerge from the grill a la the user manual illustrations. Now, after reading this, I realise it's the push release I have! Phew! Thought there was something wrong!

75 and Zt Owners Club to the rescue!

Been scratching my head over that one!
