Default How long for temp sensor to reset

How long does it take for the temperature sensor to reset so the display shows the correct outside temperature and not - 30.
I know it will reset but so I know if there is a fault, how long

Never measured it but if you disconnect the battery or use option 21 on the IPK diags its pretty instantaneous.

The ambient temperature sensor has to recalibrate after being disconnected. This can take from a couple of hours to a couple of days. There doesn't seem to be a specific period. Generally speaking it's longer than you might expect.

Most of the time when we have disconnected one at the Nano meets it re-sets its self within 30 minutes, make sure it is fully plugged home so the spring is holding it secure.

I took phil-t4's advice and disconnected the battery. Today it is so hot in the sun I doubt I could tell if it was reading correctly but is 29.5 I think
