Default New clutch system fitted, but having issues!

Hi guys/gals,

Have recently had a new plate, slave, master and DMF (old one had 50mm play!) fitted, but my car is now suffering with a problem.
During the week as I drive it, the pedal gets a lot of play in it at the top, and all the pressure seems to come at the bottom of the pedal (the bite), as the week drags on it becomes worse to the point of being unable to get it in to gear easily.

My garage bled it again after the first week of having it installed. The problem went away briefly, the clutch felt great etc, but for the problem to only reoccur over the next few days after. This weekend I had it bled again and they tightened the "'union" on the master itself where the pipe comes out by a turn and a half. (Matt at DMGRS recommended this)

The problem as yet hasn't come back. But i'm now such a pessimist with this car that it probably will return. Any ideas what it could be? There doesn't appear to be any leaks and dot4 level in the master isn't going down!

I paid my garage £200 labour to fit the system. I sourced the Tazu metal master along with Borg and Beck slave/plate from DMGRS. My garage won't cover the parts as I sourced them (except the DMF which they sourced), and if anything furthermore needs doing they're probably going to charge me labour again!

Help please?!

Thanks,
Jack.

If you can get a turn and a half on the union, I'm betting it wasn't ever tight enough in the first place.
Hopefully that's it - the joint needs to be quite tight to seal properly.

If it turns out not to be that, what would be your position on looking at it?

I'll have a chat with the garage that fit them all for me, and see what they reckon. It's an odd problem, slow intake of air is usually a joint leaking ever so slightly somewhere.
It's worth checking the union at the quick-release connector is tight too - they may have not done that up tight enough either.

Is that easily accessible and an easy thing to do for someone as inept as me?

The union, or tube nut you speak of is accessible. If you're not used to tightening nuts/bolts etc there is a danger of over tightening and stripping the thread. If you know someone who is used to this then ask them to check the tightness, engineers or mechanical people have a 'feel' as to when a bolt is tight enough. Hope this helps, it's not meant to deter you.

Any news? It isn't the unions.

Check around the bleed nipple for fluid, mine has a slow leak there and has exactly the same issues as you are having. I tried bolting on a compression fixing but the replacement pipe and nipple end I put on have exactly the same problem (although these were LUK items not the b&b one). Other than that it might be the union between the master and slave and the connection of the pipe to the quick connector, when I fitted mine I noticed that the bolt bottomed out before the pipe was as tight as I wanted to make it.
