Default gear lever gaiter base removal 54 plate ZT

At some point in its life, moodyblue has had a cup of something sticky spilled from the cup holder. recently added to this was half of ainsdale beach from taking the dog to a border terrier meet up. end result is that I need to remove the base of the gear lever gaiter from the centre console, in order to give everything a good clean up. can anyone suggest how this is removed, I guess its clipped in but dont want to pull at things as they have a tendency to expensively snap !!

thanks

Steve

I must admit, a good clean is long overdue- I did give it a good hoover after the beach last weekend, but have run out of car shampoo, and am too busy at the weekends at the moment to give it the attention it deserves !!
