Default Microphone?

On the front inside light there looks like a microphone on the side.
Could this be for a phone or what?
If so how do I set a hands free up using it?

Location for a handsfree mic. It's a BMW design and their E39 et al models have a microphone that will fit directly into the recess on the inside of the light module but I don't think the 75 is pre-wired.

It's not, but it's pretty easy to winkle the wiring into place using a stiff wire hook via the A-pillar join.

HowTo photos available if needed.
