Default Maf sensor,

My cdti auto is not running as it should,I want to unplug the Maf to see any difference,can someone describe what, where,and how,I have not had to locate it before,thanks Tom.engine not responding to revs under load,slowto respond to kick down etc,

Had a similar problem, but got info from MarinaBrian that it may be the EGR that causes the power lack...

First, turn of the EGR by unplugging the vacuum pipe from it, to be sure that the MAF is faulty or not. If it runs identically with EGR off, then it is up to MAF.

Also steps you could do:
Clean EGR
Clean MAP sensor within the inlet manifold
Clean inlet manifold

That is what i learned from gurus here and it came out with nice result

PS. don't compare Auto with manual though...

If you unplug the vacuum pipe remember to plug it up otherwise you will have a rock hard brake pedal

On investigating if the MAF was the culprit,I found the air filter was in a sorry state,fitted a new one and lo and behold problem solved.thanks for info lads.Tom.
