Default Lumpy idle hard to start

Hi folks looking for some advise,

Over past few days I have noticed that when starting car in morningbidle was a bit lumpy and felt like was going to stall but would then kick back in. This went away when had been driven for about 15 minutes. Went out this morning and started for about two seconds then died then was hard to start but did eventually. Is this a symptom of fuel pump? If so how do I test them?

Or could it be something else there is no engine light etc on and as I said once started runs perfect?

It’s a 2004 2.0 diesel

Sounds like an injector problem.

Some injector cleaner might cure it.

Lots of info on the forum about injectors, leak back tests etc.

Check the plenum isn't blocked, I've just finished repairing an injector load drop ECM for similar symptoms.

Another point is does your car have an under bonnet pump, & how much diesel do you have in the car, above half hopefully if UBP is in situ, don't forget you can obtain a good cheap leak back test kit.
