Car Key
Hi, can anyone help? I need to replace my car key which does central locking, ignition, immobiliser etc. I have been quoted over £200 by MG main dealer, but is there anywhere else cheaper I can get it done. My care is a 2002 MG ZT-T. I am based in Essex

Get a Valeo case from EBay & swap the innards from your key over, about a tenner

Yep, how does £80 sound?
All you need to do is get the blade cut. |

You just need a new key shell and a lock button, anyone with some soldering ability can change the button, then you transfer the circuit board, transpponder chip and blade to the new case.

Key Fob buttons
All you need is one of these (buy two so you have a reserve)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...E:L:OC:GB:3160 Took 10 minutes to cut around the old buttoms and fit the new ones, nothing else to change no glue, nothing. (Unless by 'lock button' you mean the actual switch) in which case you can buy them separately too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1511256394...84.m1497.l2649 Last edited by wuzerk; 24th July 2014 at 09:22.. |
