Default A new record

My weather station today recorded a new highest temperature since its records began about 4 years ago. 31.2C at 14:00 today.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Indeed it is hot Harry. For once in many years, kids are starting their summer holidays to some nice weather
Too hot for me though

Yep, according to my weather station (http://reedham.org/weather) we hit a balmy 32.7 today

I'm a complete heat junkie so loving it, shame it probably won't last though!

I see you also have the Watson type. I'm struggling to find a replacement anemometer for mine at the moment, at a sensible cost.

Maplin's had complete weather stations that I can assume were Watsons but with a different badge on extremely cheap recently. Not sure if they still do though?
Is yours connected to a PC or do you just use the display that comes with it?

Mine is not exactly the Watson version, it was the one with touch screen and has the automatic MSF time reception. I do have it connected to the PC and it is using Cumulous to log the data.

Someone did say they could supply a replacement anemometer, but they wanted half the cost of the entire unit for the sensor. So I declined. I saw Maplins complete low end unit at £30, but Maplins email arrived the day after the sale due to Tiscali's server problems - otherwise I would have grabbed one simply for spares.

The anemometer bearing seized up first and I managed to get a replacement for that from a bearing supplier for £5. Then shortly after that a mysteriously high flying football managed to break one of the cups - that was blamed on the dog heading the ball

Just spotted this - All parts are available and at quite good prices from http://www.airbandonline.co.uk/watson_w8681_spares.htm

It looks as if the website has not been updated for a while, but we will see. I have just ordered a replacement anemometer - £13 delivered.

Yep, website does look a bit old and amateur but as long as you pay with a credit card you should be covered if they fail to deliver. I think the next time they're on offer at Maplins I might buy a complete one for spares, really like having my weather station now and oddly several of my friends also use it a lot, to the point where if it's not updating for any reason they'll text me to tell me to sort it out!!!!
