Reading Jatco ATF temp using pscan.eu
I know that it is important to have the ATF (automatic transmission fluid) upto a certain temperature I think before checking the fluid level.
We had a comment from a customer that our tool was reading high on the ATF temperature reading which means that people would not have it warm enough. We discovered that the reading being shown was actually for coolant temperature and not for ATF and we fixed this in pscan.eu version 0411. This was because this reading was reverse engineered from a certain (very expensive) professional tool, and they had gotten it wrong. If you are using the tool to test ATF temperature please make sure that you are using the latest software, at least version 0411 and please make sure that you are reading ATF temp and not coolant temp. |

Phil, I'm contemplating buying your scanner specifically to look at the Jatco.
How confident are you that your diags are accurate in this area?

Currently I would say 90% sure.
If another owner can confirm it then it will increase my confidence. To get to 100% I would need a visit from someone with an auto 75/ZT so that I can put it on my T4 for a side by side comparison. |

I'm glad you sorted the oil temp issue, as that's where I think the problem might be on mine. I'll think about a purchase, but before I buy, any club discount?

Oops, I forgot.
What's the score if you wish to sell the unit afterwards for any reason? Is that allowed?

But a sale wouln't be sharing or lending and it isn't clear. I mean, what if you only register with one computer? That still leaves a slot. And the page also suggests you can register more computers, but the earlier one might get locked out. EOD, I know it seems you can't re-sell it, but I'm asking for clarification, as it affects what the product is worth to me. After all, if I can't sort my box and decide to move the car on and don't buy another Rover, it's instantly worthless, isn't it? Cheers for the link though :-)

I actually want one of these, but I'm not prepared to pay £150 for one. I did set up an eBay search to email me if one becomes available - but the risk I buy a unit that's "full" and then be forced to pay the manufacturer some unspecified amount to use it again, and the fact that I often swap PCs (I used to get a new laptop every 3-6 months) put me off. |

However you ever want to buy it back off them you will also need a new laptop because they will have deregistered yours. Deregistration is permanent and non-reversible. Yes for the ZT and 75 V6. I believe that the 825 KV6 uses a MEMS2J so I think that this will also work, it's just that I'm not aware if anyone has tried it. The 800 with the Honda V6 is not supported (at this time). |
