Question ZT Wheels

Currently have 11 spoke alloys on the 160 but as seems to be quite common, they have blistered and are looking a bit shabby. So I'm going to treat myself to a new set once I get home in a few weeks. Was looking online at a few NI sellers, and been trying to keep my budget in or around £400 ish. Any reccommendations of suitable vendors to have a wee duke at? Also happened to have a look in Rimmers and I see they have replacement 11 spokers for an easy on the wallet £264, which if I'm honest, might do the trick plus it means I'll have my originals as spares/ditch the space saver! They are also a good looking wheel in my view. What are Rimmers like for 1. delivery to NI and 2. quality. Or is there somewhere local that will do them? Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Cheers
John

That £264 is per wheel I think - I am getting a set from PX Wheels at Blackpool soon. That is £270 for a set of 4 refurbished wheels, exchanging the ones you have already.

Be careful of the colour match from PX Wheels !

I've posted in earlier threads after trying having a set of Hairpins delivered from them.

What was the concern regarding the colour match ? Did the wheels vary from each other for example, or was the silver differant from the original sparkle silver ? I intend to visit them to have the wheels put on - so I guess can check tem out before parting with any hard earned.

if you like the 11 spoke style you already have, wouldnt it be a better idea to refurb them, it shouldnt cost the that much rather than forking out on a full new set. just an idea mate, then spend the money you save on something else for your motor...

Have a hunt around fella for a good set at a scrapper, the ones on mine started to bubble (hairpins) and I managed to get another four for £100. They scrubbed up well and needed a wee bit of touching up.

Thumbs up

Checked out a refurb at a place over by Dundonald (www.reinventingthewheel.co.uk) they done a curbed wheel on the missus fiesta and was a top job. All four wheels though would have to be left in for 5 days and they couldnt gaurantee finish due to the bad pitting on some of the wheels.Likely round £100 a corner as they are quite bad. Powder coating was reccommended as it would help fill the worst parts, offered at £260. Misread Rimmers! would cost me over a grand.....not gonna happen lol! Longest turnaround I'd be willing to do is two days as 5 days is almost half my vacation at home this time round and cant really do without my wheels.(literally) Think I'll probably go with caraaudioni as they seem reasonable and have a good selection. most likely I'll leave one wheel in at a time at Dundonald (only up the road from me) to get powdercoated then just pick up next time I'm home. (£65 a corner wouldnt drain the funds too much either). To be honest, don't think I could be bothered if I got a set from a scrappies and have to touch them up etc. regardless how little. Nothing like getting new wheels. Cheers for all response. Good to read views.
thx

Well I popped up to Blackpool yesterday and had my new refurbished wheels fitted. I rang them on Tuesday to ask if they had 18'' straights in stock. They didn't, but said they could provide some in a week or so. I asked on the off chance if they would do a differant design at the same price - Hairpins perhaps ? They agreed that they would.
On arrival I was met in a friendly manner, and they had the wheels ready for me to inspect. I was impressed with the quality of the finish, with a deep lustrous laqueur. I wandered off to get some lunch, returning an hour later to find them fitted. They looked really good - I had always liked the Hairpin design anyway. Total cost for 5 wheels was £337.50 fitted and balanced. I have to say that I am impressed with the service and quality of the wheels.
Needless to say I have no connection with PX Wheels.
