Thumbs up All Ireland Rover Enthusiasts Event!!! 08/05/2011

Ok folks, this is the big one. This event is essentially Irelands biggest Rover event and is now in its 5th year running and is run by "The Rover Enthusast Club of Ireland".

Sunday 8th Of May 2011
Killucan, Co. West Meath, Ireland
Costs 5 euro for the whole day! Bargain!

This is about 1/8 of the cars that where there!

The exact location/time will be revealed closer to the event date (due to finalization by organisers but its likely to be same as last four years), but its essentially in the town of Killucan, Co. West Meath, Ireland not far from Mulingar which is dead handy to reach thanks to the local motorways in the area.

Its roughly 115 miles from Belfast, so for folks traveling from the North (even us V6 owners and the diesel folks can get cheap diesel on route!) it wont totally ruin your bank balance plus its our first southern event which will allow a lot of the southern members to join us and hopefully get a huge club stand!!!

This was it last year and as you can see it had some classic agricultural vehicles at it, classic range rovers, all sorts of modern classics and of course this year they have extended the invite to the "modern" 75 and ZT owners for their event!

Additionally anything else Rover or MG is welcomed on the day, so if its your MG F or MG B roadster, or Rover Street wise to Rover P5 then this is the event for you.

All the cars are organized in a row so there will be hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of Rovers and MG's and Brit Layland stuff all lined up for your enjoyment.

More photographs can be found in this link. http://www.roverclubireland.com/phot...ucan_show_2010

-------------

Anyways, I know may might seem like a long time away (trust me, its less than 8 weeks which fly in!) so im happy to start organizing this now.

So I want people to list themselves wanting to go to this event below. I will start messaging people after the March 27th Ultimate Car Show Larne, but I just wanted to start preparing people for it in-case anyone wants to go.

Who fancies a massive convoy all the way down there then? Im happy to organize this event and planning the trip for everyone (avoiding toll roads also hopefully!) as long as they keep m informed!!!

Ok folks, we are 100% go for this now and everythings coming together last minute as usual! Attractions include auto jumble, fun-fair, puppeteers, live music, wood turning demonstrations, craft stalls and helicopter rides as well as the massive selection of classic and modern cars for you to nosey around.

Ive to confirm car numbers for our section of the field and im going by my list below unless people pull out. A mixed bag with everything from Streetwises to 620i's! Please everyone is welcome, just send me a PM or add your name to the list. The organisers are really excited about people from up north bringing some modern rover/mg/brit lay stuff.

Im organizing a lot of cars from various sites us north to all go down together. So please let me know if your interested in going as im putting a lot of work into this.

THE CONVOY

The plan is to meet at the Sprucefield shopping centre @ 8am, thats 0800 hrs on Sunday the 08/05/2011 and head down as a group. Thats the side that has McDonalds on it, not the Sainsburys side!

Below is a google map to show where sprucefield is in NI incase you are unaware of it.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...15000&t=h&z=16

Costs only 5 euro each per person on the day, so quite a bargain compared to some events!

This will NOT be a race down, as we will also be joined by several classic cars on the day from the Classic Rover Club of NI, Rover Enthusiast Club of NI and others as well as modern stuff.

The Route

Expect a steady 55/60 mph drive the whole way there in the convoy. We travel straight down the A1 and bypass Newry straight onto the Southern M1. We branch off for Ardee, then take the N52 to Kells and on through Delvin towards Mullingar. The Rover Heritage Club will have a sign up before Mullingar which gives us a direct road down to the Rally Field in Killucan, on the Devlin Road. Straight forward run and no toll bridges etc.

Heres out destination on google map, its Devlin Road. For those southern members who want to meet us there, we are aiming for 10am to be there. http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...2,0.01457&z=16

Incase anyone doesnt know where Sprucefield Shopping centre in lisburn is, ive included this link.

MOST IMPORTANT PART FOR EVERYONE TO READ!!

Ok, to get entry on the day everyone needs to fill out a form for their insurance and liability etc. When everyone meets at Sprucefield I will have a pile of these printed out, along with pens etc, so everyone just fill them out before we get there.

For those NOT joining the convoy and meeting us there (eg Southern Owners) then ive provided the form as a image below, just click on it and print it out.

Should you want to wait until we get there at 10am roughly
