Default ABS Light

So on Friday my ABS light came on whist towing a trailer. someone asked me if the speedo is still working and it is so this must mean its one of the rear sensors. is this true?

Speedo and fuel gauge are linked to o/s front only.
I think cruise control is n/s front
There is a thread somewhere about how to check which wheel by using a multi meter.
