Customising at it's very best hahaha.

We all did that, don't forget the fibreglass whip aerial!

Now these are nice.

Have sent you a p.m.

A while ago my son managed to buy one of those light up ford logo badges and got me to fit it to his mk1 focus, got to admit it looked really good, not OTT at all, there was nothing around like that when I was a kid, all that was available was jack up kits, candy apple paint and furry dice to bolt to my MK2 Cortina. hahaha.
Different colour dials / led kick plates / drl lamps .... I would have killed for stuff like that back in the day.
Thank you I've got a batch order for the LED kick trims running at the moment with a order deadline on 31st December. The next batch order will probably be around March next year

I had a little look into the light up front badges, there are companies that make them but never thought there would be much interest in them.

I've still got a couple of cans of Candy Apple Scarlet in my garage from 1980 when I sprayed my then girlfriend's Consul Capri with it over a silver base. All done in the open....simply sanded the dead flies out between lacquer coats.

Girlfriend is now my wife of 34 years.

How about the parking light that clipped onto the top of the window with the chip in that automatically put it on and off? Still have mine in the shed. Oh well.

Lovely car the Capri, my Mum had a Classic 315 back in the 60’s TCS 993 it was maroon with a white roof. It was bought because my Dads’ wheelchair fitted into the large boot.
I still have the owners handbook for that car.

The Pop behind featured on the cover of the second issue of Street Machine, back in 1978 and inspired me to build my own. Although living in N.London I became a member of the Essex Popular Front (I mention this because of your location) - nearby to you, Stanford Le Hope was Pop HQ

Having completed the Pop my girlfriend made a good case for a car of her own so we paid £375* in 1980 for a rust bucket of a Capri and spent a year of nights and weekends on the build. In 81/82 both our cars featured jointly at a number of indoor shows including one in Copenhagen - the organisers gave us a free holiday in Rhodes - cheaper than keeping us in Denmark. Pop was sold to fund our first house in 1984 and the Capri went in 1996. By then it was BMW red with 1600GT/auto from a 1970 Mk1 Capri. Seats were recovered Dolomite Sprint. It's been off the road in storage since I believe.

* today £375 can buy an MOT'd R75. A show quality Capri will fetch over £10k. We sold for £2k.
