Default Clutch problem, not a good start!

Hi All,

Took my new to me 75 diesel out tonight heading to another motor clubs Christmas dinner when pulled up at a roundabout, went to select first gear and the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there.
Got the car pushed into a safe position and had a look at the pedal. I was able to pull it back up and when I pushed it back down it felt like a normal clutch pedal should do.

Am I right in thinking that the clutch master cylinder needs replaced? I assume if it was the slave cylinder that had gone then the pedal would just go to the floor again.

I was able to get the car home again with no problems but something isn't right.

Hmm, Why do I not find this a surprise

Why not pop along and see Jonny or Rab at Ards Mini Centre for a considered opinion

Best of luck

is there a wet patch under the master cylinder. Its a pain to get to but can you feel around it for liquid?

No wet patch that I can see. It is working well at the moment so still driving it. But will take it to the Ards Mini Centre tomorrow for them to have a look at it.
