Question Which exhaust trims are these?

Hi All,

I have come upon a set of exhaust trims but I am not sure which models they are. I believe both are for an MK1 type bumper and I think one is for a saloon and one is for the tourer. Time to ask your expert opinions

These are trims:

PC070001:
PC070002:
PC070003:
PC070004:
PC070005:
PC070006:
PC070007:
PC070008:
PC070011:

I think the left hand side one is for a saloon and the right hand side is for a Tourer. Can you confirm I am right in my assumption?

Yup! You're right.

So the question remains: is it for a Saloon or for a Tourer? And what about the left hand side trim? Saloon or Tourer?

Perhaps the part numbers are on Rimmer Bros site, hopefully you’ll get the info there

Hi Les,

Thank you for your reply!

I already had a thorough look on Rimmers and B&G but I cannot find the part numbers for these trims or pictures I can compare them with. So I was hoping someone would recognize them.

I remain hoping

Hi Jan,

Despite the driving rain and the fact it's pitch black outside, I've braved the elements for you and just taken these pictures of mine so hopefully this will help

Firstly these are the trims on my mark 1 V8 ZT saloon

and right hand side

Then on my ZT-T mark 1 tourer (I know I've got some screws missing)

Finally my facelift ZT saloon

From the pictures you have supplied and looking at mine, I would say the mark 1 saloon and tourer trims are identical and those are what you have posted up in your pictures.

The facelift saloon trims are a different shape, but I can't show you an example of a facelift tourer trim unfortunately. I would imagine that for cost reasons, MG Rover would probably have made them the same as the saloon facelift but I can't be sure

I hope that helps

Hi Reebs,

Most helpful!

It looks like I have a left-hand side trim for an MK1 tourer and a right-hand side for an MK1 saloon.

They indeed look the same but the "brim"/"eyebrow" of the right-hand side trim is a bit wider and more "bent" than the left-hand side trim.

Thanks again!

Question

I wish to thank you both @Sjonnie & @Reebs for that thread.
Thank to your very accurate contributions I've just found & bought on the bay a nice heat shield.
Just a little wonder about the reference. The seller named it 'DQQ000140MMM' but the title was 'MG ZT 160 190 120 260 rear bumper heat shield Mk1 POLISHED FINISH'.
According to the rather comprehensive informations provided here, it looks the equivalent as 'DQQ000020MMM' at Rimmers, or something very close.

Numbers like 'DQQ0001...MMM' are rather given to mk2 saloon & tourer, with a shape less angular in the angles and somehow more round.

Am I wrong? Thank you for your kind advices.

Here is my purchase I'm intending to screw on my LHD 75 saloon mk1 bumper:
