Default Err message

My trip meter sometimes shows ERR. I did a search on here and found a post about a diesel with this and the chap was told it was a recall but nothing to worry about. My V6 does it randomly - is this the same error and can I leave it?

It’s a software glitch on a certain batch of IPKs Dawn, my 2002 75 suffers from this from time to time as does my ZTT 190 2002 car. Nothing to worry about, and as far as I am aware nothing that is curable even by the Wandmaster Marinabrian. He’ll be along to correct me very shortly I’m sure.

Firmware problem, the cure is a replacement IPK Dawn.

Is it a lowline or message centre ?

Message centre. It doesn't bother me, as long as it won't hurt anything. I think I've seen it say PPP too, or I have imagined it. Only the trip one, though. Everything else is fine.

A couple of our cars suffer from that too Dawn, and yes PPP is another well know error, annoying but nothing major.

The 'Err' message (from the software glitch) often pops up if you rush the start-up of the engine. Turning the ignition key in distinct steps might avoid it.

Yep, happens to me too. Restart of the car usually cures it.
