Unless he's moved, Chris is near Portsmouth, not Plymouth.

Having said that, I highly recommend Chris, he sorted me out with 2 keys earlier this year

Special delivery is guaranteed next day with a compensation figure of £500 if it goes astray

I've not ever had it happen, however if it did, the compensation would certainly be enough for me to drive to Taunton to replace it in person

Actual cost is £255.60 including vat. Got a new one couple of months ago from Ballards in Welshpool, ex Rover dealers.

Yes I did.

T4 can't programme them as it can't access the data file in the immobiliser
They probably thought you just needed the remote coding in.

Russ

Thanks Russ. Seeing you Friday PM. I still have you in my SatNav from 5 years ago but please confirm your address in case. Many thanks. Scrumpy will be on board.

Thanks Dave. Well that just goes to show that, contrary to the view of some people on this forum, information given even by "well regarded" ex-MG Rover dealers can be, to quote a phrase MarinaBrian applied to me, "completely and utterly wrong".

For a new key??

lol no.

I paid £160 a few months ago, expressly because I couldnt be bothered with all the previous arsing around to save a few pennies.

Just wanted a genuine key that worked.

I got a perfect working key from Russ, including having the blade copied cost me eighty quid, half what you shelled out. That's more than a few pennies.

Ah, but did you get a self adhesive barcode sticker to put into the front page of your service history book Steve

Anyway, I happen to know the price of a key from BMW's central coding division at Munchen, and it's not £160
