£50 a corner for s/h steel rims and pseudo-european winter compound. For me, it's a no-brainer.
I don't mind the car looking a bit daft for a couple of months. The smug face I wear when passing the Range Rovers, Q7s and X-thingys sliding across two lanes with their summer-chemistry-rubber more than makes up for it. You wouldn't say "I could really do with a winter jacket, but I'll stick to my summer jacket, and just wear it more carefully" |

I did not know that Brian. we had two Scanias D358FAJ and D359FAJ together with two Renaults. We operated out of Beckton on the A13 East London. London to Athens, Greece with groupage and occasionally radar equipment to Crete and Santorini for Plessey on the Isle of Wight.

7 degC is the magic number
Below that and winter tyres come into their own in terms of grip for braking, cornering and traction I find my ZT is much happier driving through standing water on winter tyres than it is on normal tyres.
