As Moderators, and by the Rules of the Club, (FAQ 14.4), we cannot intervene in singular transactions between members.
However, we would prefer to be made aware of any problems that members have with sellers (at whatever status) via PM or e-mail (please not open forum in the first instance as this may lead to incorrect or erroneous perceptions). Our hands may be tied to a certain extent, but where there is a repeating issue, then we need to know to see if we can help to resolve any problems. We are here to help each other, and if an amicable solution to a perceived problem can be reached, then as individual members we will do our best to achieve this.

sale of goods act etc applies in so much as the goods have to be as described. Even if this was a company doing the selling this is not covered by the sale of goods act more by simple contract law - you've paid for something and not received it. If you have the guys address and proof of the deal ie emails/messages from the forum I'd be writing to him explaining that you want your money and if he fails to do so within a reasonable period of time you're going to have to go through the small claims court (with possible additional costs to him. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You've paid for something, and not received it. It's the seller's responsibility until it arrives at your address and is signed for, it's the seller's responsibility to track this parcel. If it's got lost in the post, then the seller should give you a refund and claim back the value of the item through the royal mail. If it was worth £x amount, then it should have been sent via suitable postage method for an item of this value. If he didn't do that, or didn't keep the receipt, then that's his problem and not yours. Email them and tell them that unless you receive a full refund by the end of the week, you'll be taking them to the small claims court.

I did notice that the mods had been involved for some time, however the seller has been & still is taking the **** by implying that he/she has involved debt collectors so quickly & it was this escalation by the seller that I was refering to when I suggested that the mods jump in. SteveN

To reiterate, the seller in question has for sometime now had their ability to post on the open forum removed, and all of their existing for sale items have been deleted, so there is no fear of any other new member being affected in this way.
We are striving in this unique case to resolve the situation as quickly as possible for the good of those who may be involved. Please allow us to deal in this matter. |

Swordy, u r not alone
My walnut gear knob also didn't arrive for now. Payed 3rd of May. Is it really such big money, 58 of GBP, to take a decision for a fraud?

I'm sorry to hear its also happened to you...
All I can say Mick Ukraine ....you have also been let down.
It is such a shame because the vast majority of people on here and in the club are very good people who will freely give their time and help for any other member. As I have only too well aware and had that experience before. Sadly I'm always willing to take someones word ...as gentlemen should. I hope I haven't stirred up a wasps nest in the club. Thank you for all the replies to the thread...and positive feedback. Cheers Paul |

Hello Wraymond,
Sorry to hear your experience...I'm sure it has left a sour taste in the mouth to put it lightly!! Notice you're not too far away...I'm from Canewdon. Although my 75 is a 2000 not a lovely shiney 2005 model. Paul |

Thanks swordy. Shine is a function of arthritic elbows, not literage! That's why mine isn't shiny any more. Happy days....
