Default Clutch-no Dmf?

as any one ever tried converting the 75 to a standard clutch set up?ie-doing away with the dmf,if this was possible would it just make the slightly noisy, because as these cars get older this failing could send an other wise good car to the scrapper

I put a new clutch in my 120k V6. No sign of any probs with the DMF, but had already obtained the new one as I didn't want to have to do the job twice if it was had it.

Has anyone ever heard of a DMF failure on a 75? I have heard of them on many other models, just don't recall a 75 actuall suffering.

my 2.0 75 has done 177000 so far on original DMF,its not unheard of to have a DMF welded up and balanced, thus making it a solid flywheel.some makes now have a solid flywheel conversion available,i think mondeos is one of those but i havnt seen a solid flywheel commercialy available for a 75 yet, maybe because theyre fairly reliable,i wonder how many garages actually know how to test them or just tell the customer they need a new one while the clutch is out to save the risk of doing the job again!

unless the garage knowsthe car they are going to replace the lot to eliminate the problem, when i repair a boiler my customers expect me to replace the faulty part not several just to make sure which is only fair

Talking dmf

what is a dmf?? also my clutch fluid is leaking......no clutch...i was told it is a sealed unit and the whole bang shoot must be replaced. Is there no way of topping it up?? I would really be glad of a little help, thanks
