Smile new back box.?

Hiya. Does anyone know the price of a new back box for a 1.8.? I have looked on eBay, but when you scroll down, they all say that the pics and part no are just for information and what you receive may be different to that shown.... Some say that the box will be round... Thanks, Poppy

Busy with the same at the moment. There does seem to be quite a few for the 1.8, but as you say lots are round, especially the non turbo.
The pictures look like the diesel tourer, but the pipe sizes are not specified. So we will not know what we are going to end up with.

I know the genuine Rover ones (when you can get them) are about £180 & as far as I can tell all 1.8's have the funny shaped silencer as opposed to a round one

Hiya. Exactly.... I don't want some cheap crappy thing that will need changing in 12 months time... I also notice that a lot seem to be for the 2.0, twin pipes... Don't for one minute suppose they would fit the 1.8..

That is also round.

The picture is the same as the diesel, but there must be a difference in the diesel, 1.8 and 1.8 T, when it comes to the internals or not ?

I seeeee it'll probably fit ok but you'll need a new mounting bracket, might be worth giving them a call just to confirm (especially at that price)

The pipework's different diameter for the different engine types/sizes

As Colin said, diesels and petrol are different.... Don't really see why the 1.8T is though.... Would love twin pipes, but do not really want to be altering too much and having welds done...
