Default Livid! Broken into

Just back from our boat Astraeus and we have been broken into. Little scum bags have forced open the companionway hatch and been through every drawer and box in the boat. Fortunately they seem to have been after booze and none of our marine electronics have been stolen. However Dad's bottle of whisky gone and a bottle of wine.

Two boats have had their cockpit enclosure Windows slashed to gain access and that will be £100 plus to get fixed.

To be honest it is the fact they have been in the boat......grrrrr

CCTV being installed this week so that will help a bit but the simple fact is if folk want to get in....they will.

Hope they choke on the whisky.....

That's awful, glad they didn't do too much damage but it's the thought that they've violated your property

Horrible thing to happen and it’s the feeling that they’ve been there must be awful

Default Indeed

Indeed it could have been worse. A few others were not so lucky. I think it's the fact they have been through everything in my boat! I just don't get how anybody can think it is ok to touch other folks stuff. I am very annoyed! Just had police on phone and surprisingly they have made an appointment to meet me at the boat on Tuesday.

Be nice to think they would get caught.....

It is a horrible feeling you have my sympathy. You are right if they want to get in they will. All you can do is discourage them.
With CCTV can you get warnings to your phone and capture footage? I ask because should another break-in occur, they may have time to search and take the cctv recorder if they know there is CCTV

Makes your stomach churn finding such things as having your property violated by vile beings ( I won't call them human).

I hope you can affect repairs soon, and at not too much of a cost.

It's a sad world.

This is something I thought about with our boat weather to make it very secure and risk it getting more damaged or the hatch forced and damaged that would end up costing more to fix than the value of whats worth taking from inside , might get a sticker made up that says no alcohol left in overnight
