Next job on the agenda to attend to would be the webasto
I have a coolant leak which I can't find as yet
The coolant is manifesting itself in small puddles sitting on top of the auto gearbox which is directly underneath. I've checked the hoses at rest and under pressure after a run and can't find a leak.
There is however some staining on the heater which may suggest the leak is coming from the casing of the heater itself.
Can I get a gasket kit for the heater and where from ?
Regards
Chris

You can get gasket kits but i dont beleive there are any water seals involved in the heat exchanger. As far as i know its one casting with just inlet and outlet pipes. The gastets go between the burner casing and the heat exchanger casing, and between burner and casting. Are you sure the hoses are tight, and the pump isnt leaking?

I'll have to delve into this a bit deeper me thinks m8
I can't so far find any leaks at the hoses
Where is the pump prone to leak from if that is the case ?
Regards
Chris

Chris,

I cant say that they are prone to leaks exactly but they are made of plastic rather than cast metal, so may be a weaker spot than the main body itself for leaks. I have seen a picture in one of the threads of one leaking around its base but they are not widely reported. there is small inch long rubber hose connecting the pump to the main body, have you checked that one?

Could it be leaking from the circular air bleed mounted in the hose that goes over the top left-hand corner of the unit. Sometimes it can leak out on the battery side of the air bleed and is missed,

No apparent leak at the bleed screw Geoff - think I'll strip the engine cover off and have a good rummage later in the week when I'm off
