Proposed Christmas Meal 21st December - Hollow. Tree
Our normal Sunday monthly meet in December falls on the 21st, so I'm hoping to organise our usual Christmas meal on this date if it is available.
I will confirm it with the pub next Sunday. The cost is £10.95,each for 3 courses If you are interested please post on this thread. Once the date is confirmed payment will need to be made at the time of booking. Here is the menu: Starters, 1, Tomato and basil soup - with croutons, crusty bread butter 2, Breaded mozarella sticks - with crisp leaves and a cranberry dip 3, Prawn Cocktail - with malted bread and butter 4, Smooth pork and chicken liver pate - with crisp leaves tomato and apple chutney,toasted bread and butter Main - all with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, 1, Traditional roast turkey - with chipolata, Yorkshire pudding, sage and onion stuffing and gravy 2, Cheddar topped root vegetable, apricot and nut bake - with mature cheddar & tomato and herb sauce 3, Grilled salmon fillet - with creamy bernaise sauce Dessert, 1, Baked vanilla cheesecake - with mixed berries and vanilla ice cream 2, Lemon meringue pie - with vanilla ice cream 3, Traditional Christmas pudding - with brandy sauce 4, Chocolate & hazelnut bobbies - smooth & creamy praline in Belgian chocolate & hazelnut coated choux buns, served with whipped cream The kids menu is £5.95 and can be a choice from the following, Starter, C1, Tomato soup - with bread and butter C2, Breaded mushrooms - with garlic mayonnaise C3, Carrot and cucumber strips - with tomato mayonnaise Main, C1, Traditional roast turkey and gravy - with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, chipolata, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding C2, Battered chicken bites - with chips and peas C3, Macaroni cheese with Red Leicester and cheddar - with cherry tomatoes, crunchy carrot and cucumber sticks Dessert, C1, Simply ice cream - vanilla, chocolate or strawberry C2, Jelly and ice cream - vanilla ice cream and homemade jelly C3, Chocolate sponge with milk chocolate sauce - with vanilla ice cream Payment will be in advance for the meal, and of course you can buy drinks when we are there. Come on guys unless we get some more numbers we will be struggling to get this off the ground.
I shall be collecting money at the beginning of October when I'm back from holiday so I can make the booking firm with the pub. |

I will be there provided my thermostat doesn't fail and my BCU doesn't corrupt!

As indicated Jim, provisional - Liverpool are due to face Arsenal at 3pm on Saturday 20th, it will be moved for TV...hopefully remaining on the Saturday, either lunchtime or teatime - allowing me to attend.
I would dearly hope to - I have missed such events through my football commitments...it is a shame. I hope to be there!

Steve it will be a pleasure to see the two of you, although I have to say sitting here in 26c sunshine Christmas seems a long way off (in case you're wondering I'm not at home!)
