Are they the same - Tetrosyl/ Waxoyl ?
Many sellers of Tetrosyl call it 'Tetrosyl Carplan Waxoyl Rustproof Protector'.
Is Tetrosyl the same product?

Waxoyl Tetrosyl
Harry,
I have a refill tin of Waxoyl and their pressure cannister for applying the material. The application pressure canister is marked " Hammerite and Waxoyl are trade marks of the ICI Group". The Refill 5 litre can is marked "Hammerite Waxoyl the original Rustproofing for Cars" and has "Hammerite Products Limited" Prudhoe, Northumberland and the postcode. These are at least 5 years old. Tetrosyl, who make a lot of motoring fluids, Carplan paints, T Cut, and other underseals, may have bought out the product. Tetrosyl's factory is in Bury. Geoff |

I don't think there's any direct connection between Tetrosyl and Hammerite metal preservatives other than their similar applications. You often see eBay listings using two or more trade names in adverts for one particular product. They know that pople searching for WaxOyl are potential customers for Tetrosyl or whatever alternative they're pushing. You see it with adhesives (Bostik and EvoStick) and sticky tapes (3M/Sellotape), for example. They'll insert as many trade names as they can get away with, even though it contravenes eBay rules.

Hammerite and Waxoyl are now owned and made by the large Akzo Noble paint/chemicals group. They must have bought out Finnegans years ago.
