I've got one of the car interior windscreen wipers and I think they are fairly pants as they just spreads the moisture around! (tad cheaper than the one I got last time from them!). I might look out for the high vis vests as I'm going to the continent next month and its required by law to have a few of them in your boot breakdown stash! Fire extinguisher might be good though?

Not sure about other parts of the EU, but in France the vest has to be easily accessible from inside the vehicle!

try washing the pad (no fabric softener) like new towels, I find towels / cloths like these improve after first wash

For those who had their eye on the thermal screen cover. I obtained one this morning. It is not very generous on the width and doesn't completely cover the windscreen. With the driver's side of the cover lined up on the edge of the screen, there is an uncovered bit in the passenger side bottom corner.

Besides the screen cover, I bought the the Windscreen Cleaner - handy for accessing the lower reaches of the screen above the dashboard.

As a regular on the continent, the yellow vests have to be kept in the cabin area where you are sitting. If you are stopped and they are in the boot area you have a good chance of being heavily fined. You must also have an upto date breathalyser kit in the car, fined if not. Reminds me I have to get a new one this year as they only last for three years I think. Will check this out.
