Default Tourer Sticking Tailgate

Hello everybody

Can you please help me. Every now and again the tailgate on my Tourer sticks and I cant open it. The split window wont and the switch in the drivers foot well will not work.

However after a little while it will work no problem with the engine running. It was terrible earlier I could not get the dog out she was barking like hell but from a safety point of view it is a concern. (there was nothing blocking the lock)

many thanks

Chris.

This has happened with a number of Tourers and can be easily rectified as follows:-

Is the rubber weather seal underneath the Chrome number plate cover in it's correct position? Sometimes, continual use can result in it being moved out of it's correct position, and jamming the main release lever operation 'above' the rubber seal. This could give you the problems you have, both from the rear of the car and the remote release by the drivers door.

In case you are not sure of the 'correct position' for lock-checking purposes, remove the seal completely. Then try to release the lock from both the remote at the front, and then the main release at the number plate cover.

Hopefully, all should now be ok, and the seal can be relocated under the chrome cover

Default Sticking Tailgate

Hello

At the moment it has started to work so I am not going to tempt fate. When I get 5 I will have a closer look. Keep you in the loop.

Cheers

Chris
