Default 5 point security bit for MAF - size?

Could anyone tell me please, the correct size of the 5 point star security bit for the diesel MAF sensor - its the type with a hole down the centre of the bit?

Yes I know there are alternative methods to get the two screws out, but I would like to order the correct bit size. For those not yet aware, we would seem to have found not only a genuine source for the correct 029 Bosch sensors, but one with comparable cost to many of the fakes and sensors sold as 'compatible'. Not absolutely conclusive yet, but for those who might be interested in a new MAF, its here - http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=191411&page=5

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Well, buy the set and let us know. The right size might be in there.

As I have a Dremel, a slotted screw-driver did fit after which they were replaced for normal ones..................

I have a cheap set (US Pro Tools) of 7 TX Star sockets from TS40, TS30, TS27,TS25, TS20. TS15,and TS10. These have the security hole drilled into the end of the socket, and the "5 corners" rather than the 6 version. They are 1/4 inch drive. The one pictured in the link from Marinabrian looks exactly like the set I have, kept together on the metal sprung clips on the track

Without going out and removing the cover to find the exact one, from memory, it is one of the middle three sizes. If you wish, I can find the exact one in the morning.

Ta! I just want to be sure the set I buy has the right one. I have forgotten the brakes on the these cars, which need the allan key - of the size which is NOT included in most sets. I have a dozen sets and always end up scratching about for one which will fit

Harry,

In the engine "How-to's" there's an entry headed Maf Sensor, by Grey Ghost, dated 15th Jan 2007. He has it listed as the TS25.
